In the early stages of kidney disease, the patient may be totally healthy with no symptoms. But as time passes, symptoms may start to surface by itself.

Symptoms of Kidney Failure

  • High blood pressure
  • Numbness of the feet
  • Swelling of the legs (called Oedema)
  • Breathlessness
  • Cramps
  • Poor sleep, loss of appetite and lethargy
  • Bad smell in the breath called a uraemic fetor
  • Passing excessive urine especially at night (called Nocturia), or conversely too little urine.
  • Blood in the urine, which implicating underlying kidney disease

Therefore, it is necessary to start renal screening as early as possible in your health journey. In addition to a physical examination, patients frequently require both urine and blood tests to detect renal illness. These kidney function tests measure how efficiently your kidneys are operating. The majority of them assess how well your kidneys remove waste from your system. The presence of blood, a condition known as haematuria, is frequently detected in the urine.
